Prilep
Located in the heart of the Pelagonia Valley, Prilep is known for its dramatic rocky landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Often called the “City under Marko’s Towers,” Prilep is surrounded by impressive granite formations that give the area its distinctive appearance. The city has long been recognized as an important cultural and economic center, particularly famous for its high-quality tobacco production and traditional crafts.
Overlooking the town are the ruins of Marko's Towers, a historic fortress associated with the legendary ruler Krali Marko. Just outside the city lies the beautiful Treskavec Monastery, dramatically set among rocky peaks and considered one of the most impressive monastic sites in the country.
